Abstract:
This study examined the use of e-library resources by postgraduate students at National Open University of Nigeria, Benin study centre. Five research questions were raised. Descriptive survey design was employed for the study. 200 post graduate students were randomly selected from the four schools namely: School of Education, School of Management Science, School of Art and Social Science and School of Science and Technology. Questionnaire was the instrument used for data collection. Frequency count and simple percentage were used to analyze the questionnaire. Major findings emanating from the study revealed that majority of the respondents overwhelmingly use e-library resources for research and project works. It was observed that the post graduate students’ usage of the e-library resources was very low. Slow internet connectivity and irregular power supply were identified as some of the major problems militating against the use of e-library resources by postgraduate students in the selected schools in National Open University of Nigeria, Benin study centre. The paper concluded by recommending that librarians should intensify efforts in the creation of awareness to existing e- library resources in National Open University of Nigeria. This can be achieved through orientations for students, workshops and users education in the centre.
