Abstract:
Educution is important for many reasons. It helps people to acquire the skill they need to survive and perform day-to-day tasks. It makes lt easier and more enjoyable. It also plays an important role in democracy as well, since citizens must be well informed to vote responsibly. It is not an overstatement that the above attributes via the Open University has the potentials to influence economic growth positively and help to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDG). Education therefore, provides knowledge and resources that hold potentials for economic empowerment for better livelihood and societal development. Therefore, this article emmined how critical issues around education help to alleviate poverty.
